All of these pictures were taken with a Nikon D40 at Billingham beck. For my first photoshoot I wanted to focus on nature and try to get some good natural pictures to combine with man made things, which will be my focus for another photoshoot. I tried a lot of different techniques but mainly tried to get deep focous shots of trees and bushes to put along side the pictures I will try to get on another photoshoot of man made things. A lot of the photos taken during this photoshoot were focused on the idea of nature overtaking and over-running man. To do this I tried to take photos of man made objects that had a lot of natural things around it, such as a gate that was overgrown with plants and weeds.

This is an image of a gate, that has plants and bushes overgrowing it, this gives the impression that nature has taken over a man made object and nature is fighting back. For the photo, I tried to get down to the gate's level and take it on a slight angle to be able to get more detail into the shot because you aren't just seeing the front of the gate and plants. I edited the photo slightly in photoshop, changing the levels and curves to give it a darker effect. I did this to fit with the darkness of war. This image could have been improved by getting more of the gate in the shot, and using a shallower focus.
This picture of a staircase covered in leaves, this is another example of nature over taking man made objects. I used a low angle to capture this in order to get the entire staricase in the shot and used shallow focus to focus on one step. I used photoshop to change the levels and curves on this picture aswell as adding a tilt shift to blur the top and bottom of the step to make sure the focus is on the step and away from the background. This photo could have been improved by getting less of the background in the shot, meaning I would have spent less time editing the photo in photoshop, giving it a more natural feel.
